Blind eyes that see no evil;
deaf ears that hear no evil;
muted tongues that speak no evil;

trapped in sage civility
that seek passive security
where none do talk, nor hear, nor see
beyond what’s quite polite to tell;

insulated well beyond where the dark and monstrous dwell;
where closed doors and cellars shut out the light of day;
where innocents are incrementally locked away
and buried down beneath
where eyes don’t see;
and ears don’t hear;
and muted tongues will never tell their tale.

We have done as well, each in time and place,
our efforts to erase from mind and soul,
that which we did not see or hear or speak
and thus we are not altogether whole.

VATICAN CITY – Asking for forgiveness, Pope Francis told abuse survivors that “despicable actions” caused by clergy have been hidden for too long and had been “camouflaged with a complicity that cannot be explained.”  — The Catholic Register

Acts 8:1. And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. — KJV
