Okay. I’m bored. Remnants of an ice storm on the roads; my 18-yr old is still sacked out in the livingroom on the pull-out couch; I’ve walked the dog; Duke lost to Miami — so what’s a feller to do?
A contest!
Yeah! That’s the ticket!
But, what KIND of contest? Hmmm.
Poetry?
Na.
Short story?
Na.
Next Great American Novel in three parts?
Maybe. But, na.
GOT IT!
Here’s the thing: you can’t cheat. You can’t go to the internet and Google this. Not sure how you would anyhow.
You CAN post this on your Facebook or Twitter to see if anyone else out there will help you.
AND, if they do, THEY will also win!
Pretty good, huh?
Okay, first correct answers win!
Ready . . . set . . . g–
What?
Oh, yeah!
Identify the four pictures below. Tell me their character names. You can get bonus points for:
The actor’s name if it is a human;
The television show the character appeared in;
And, in the case of the cartoon character, what was unusual — or a special feature — about this show?
And, what do you win?
A copy of my collection of short stories, Through the Glass Darkly (available on Amazon.com, by the way).
Signed, of course.
So . . . ready?
Set?
G–
Oh, yeah. The pictures.
Hold on a minute while I get them.
Let’s see . . . I just had them a second — OH, here they are!
Okay, remember — no cheating.
(Like I’d know if you cheated or not)
Number One Picture:
Picture number Two:
Picture number Three:
And the LAST PICTURE IS?
There you have it.
Again, you can post this on Facebook or Twitter to get help identifying the above. I’ll wait ONE DAY — 24 hrs — one revolution of the earth on its axis — before deciding the winner — if any.
Remember, extra stuff gives you an edge. Even if I didn’t ask for it. Like when the programs aired. What network. Who the producer’s sister-in-law is. You know, stuff like that. FACTual, of course.
Mostly,
HAVE FUN!!!
L. Stewart Marsden, game-maker extraordinaire!

I think I know just the 1st. Other than that – not a clue.
Ask around, then.
All were on TV. All shows were telecast nationally.
This is AWFUL! Nobody KNOWS? Raise your hand if you were born AFTER 1960. All right, that’s a lot of hands. Now, after 1970. Ok. STILL a lot of hands. After 1980. OMG! When the heck were you born? Yesterday? Do you know the phrase, “I wasn’t born YESTERDAY?” Apparently, YES! You WERE!
Okay. You may use GOOGLE to help in your search. If it were ME, I would google something like Mexican cowboy heroes of the 50s and 60s for the first pic. I would google something like fat side kicks for cowboy TV good guys for the second. I would google famous puppet shows for the third. AND, I would google TV cartoon shows of the 50s for the last — though you really need to be winking as you search. Get it? Did you get that CLUE!
