It’s Rainin’
by L. Stewart Marsden
It’s a rainin — an I don’t mean one o’ them
drippety-drip-drop, bippety-bip-bop
misty, kind o’ veil-like rains;
But a real, consarnit, gulley-washin’
Niagra water-fallin’, Noah-build-the-boat-now
Roarin’ pourin’ kinda rain!
Whoosh! Goosh! Ever ditch in the earth
is a rushin’ stream o’ white water
swooshin’ an’ rushin’ down to the lowest ground;
And ’round ’bout now, after the measure
of a ocean or two has fell
and the rivers and lakes has done swelled
Well, I reckon it’s time I jest kicked back
to enjoy it all anyhow, ’cause you know what they say:
“Cain’t dance. En it’s too wet to plow.”
Ima hopin ya don’t warsh away…
Well, Ima hangin onter the front stoop!
Sounds like ya may be needin a boat :O
Ark.
Lovin your style, especially the word choice : )
Well, when you is country, yagadda ’bout hailf a doz’n wurds to chooz frum for ev’ry reg’lar English wurd.
